Nasir Bin Olu Dara Jones, born September 14, 1973 in Queensbridge New York, more commonly known as Nas (formerly Nasty Nas, and Nas Escobar) is an American MC and also the son of jazz musician Olu Dara, he grew up in the infamous Queensbridge housing projects in New York City. His debut album Illmatic was released in 1994 was a critically acclaimed bestseller, and is widely considered one of the greatest rap albums of all time. Nas married R&B singer Kelis in 2005, they have a son together and she filed for divorce April 29, 2009 Nas was also a part of hip hop super group the company released an album.
